Chamber consist of the
Personnel, Budget,
Documents/Bylaws,
Membership and
Government Affairs.
The President shall appoint at least one
board member to serve on each standing committee
no later than the first regular board meeting
after taking office. The President should
refrain from appointing members to chair
committees if they have not had at least one
year of experience on the Board or prior
experience.
Committee meetings shall be called by the
chairperson to complete the outlined tasks.
Auction Committee
Oversee the operations and promotion of the
annual Chamber auction
Assist Executive Director in selling tickets,
solicit donations and sponsorship opportunities
Audit Committee
Complete audit of financial books or with
authorization of Board hire an accountant
Budget Committee
Prepare budget for upcoming calendar year and
present to Board for approval
Quarterly review budget for possible revisions
Documents/Bylaws

Review bylaws and submit revisions for
consideration by the membership
Review Operations and Policy Manual
Executive
Committee
The Officers of the Board of Directors
including past President
Oversees the general operations of the Chamber
Government
Affairs Committee
To review and report to the full board on
local and statewide government and legislative
policies that would affect economic development
Membership
Committee
To assist the Executive Director in developing
membership programs, monitor benefits program
and create membership related policies as needed
Nominations/Elections Committee
Solicit nominations for board of directors
Count ballots and verify results of board
election

Review and present revisions to current
personnel policies
Enforce guidelines for Executive Directors

Administer bi-annual goals review for
Executive Director
Oversees and evaluates Executive Director
President, Past President, President Elect
plus one other member
Special Events
Committee
Develop special events to promote the greater
Palmer community
Organize and promote events such as Colony
Christmas, Colony Days and the Alaska State Fair
Parade
Report to the full Board on financial
activities and transactions monthly and submit a
budget and profit and loss annually after each
